
For Immediate Press Release September 1, 2008 Pro Power Performance Racing Engines Beckley, WV By Sara Brookover Ricky Williams and his # 12 Pro Power Performance Racing Engine has several outstanding runs over the last two weeks. On Friday, August 22nd, Ricky Williams and his #12 Pro Power Performance Racing Engine once again made a stop to his home track known as Beckley Speedway in Beckley, WV. Ricky’s night didn’t start out to well because he had to tag the tail of the first heat due to not being able to qualify. Even with a bad start in his heat, Ricky was able to work his way up through the field finishing 2nd. From the 3rd starting position in the feature, Rick Williams and his # 12 Pro Power Performance Racing Engine was able to drive his way to the front and stay there. When the checkered flag waved Ricky was leading the field by almost half a track. This is the 4th time during the 2008-racing season that Ricky Williams and his team has been to victory lane at Beckley Speedway. On Saturday, August 30th and Sunday August 31st Ricky Williams and his # 12 Rocket Chassis Pro Power Performance Racing Engine car(s) competed in the Steel Block Hillbilly 50 and then the 40th Annual Hillbilly 100 hosted by Tyler County Speedway in Middlebourne, WV. On Saturday night a $4000 payday brought out 50+ steel block late models from all over the USA to compete in the Hillbilly 50. Of those 58 cars, Ricky Williams was able to set fast time by turning an outstanding 12.60. There were no other cars that broke the 12-second mark. This fast time earned Ricky the pole starting position in the first heat. From the drop of the green flag to the waving of the checkered, Ricky Williams lead the entire race earning him the front row starting position in the Hillbilly 50. From the front row Ricky was able to lead the race for several laps until a few laps to go Ricky lost his contact therefore making it very hard for him to see. Holding his line and still trying to race hard when the checkered flag dropped Ricky Williams ended up with a 4th place finish. On Sunday, August 31st 86 cars made the trip to Tyler County Speedway to try to get their hands around the $40,000 payday for the 40th Annual Hillbilly 100. Ricky Williams and his # 12 Pro Power Performance Racing Engine were among those 86 drivers that had to try to race their way into the highest paying one day late model show in history. Ricky’s night started out by turning a lap time of 13.13. This qualifying time put Ricky starting in the 1st heat and when the race was over Ricky Williams finished in 5th place. Ricky’s final chance to make the race would have to come by winning the b-main. From the front row of the first consolation race Ricky Williams was able to win by out racing several other drivers including Scott Bloomquist who finished 2nd. Winning the first consolation race secured Ricky Williams a 14th place starting position in the 40th Annual Hillbilly 100. From the 14th place starting position and 100 laps later Ricky Williams found himself finishing in the 4th position. This is the best Hillbilly finish for Ricky Williams and his team.
